The 604 Group is a multimedia organization including 604 Records, Light Organ Records, Simkin Artist Management, Comedy Here Often, and 604 Podcast Network. Our headquarters are in the Railtown area of Vancouver, BC with a satellite office in Toronto, ON.

Our office is looking for a qualified Podcast Editor/Producer to join our team.

About You:

The Podcast Editor/Producer will have a broad appreciation for a diverse range of original content creation. This person will be organized, efficient, driven, and attentive to detail. Excellent written and oral communication a must. They would have interest in marketing initiatives and would be social media savvy.

Core job responsibilities are coordinating all aspects of podcast production including: coordinating recording logistics, supervising podcast recordings; editing audio and video; overseeing final audio edit; publishing podcasts on a weekly basis; working with team to produce podcast marketing materials (audio and video); and client communications.

Tasks:

  • Audio & Video recording of podcasts (in studio & remotely)
  • Audio & Video editing of podcasts
  • Editing clips for social media use: Tiktok, Instagram, Youtube
  • Uploading podcasts to our distributor (Libsyn) when needed
  • Admin tasks including updating of release spreadsheets, collecting payment information from vendors, submitting invoices to accounting and tracking budgets/approvals for contracted content (social media clips)
  • Assisting the Digital Marketing Coordinator with execution of social media campaigns
  • May include upkeep of social media accounts for select podcasts (scheduling posts, improving engagement, tracking analytics)
  • Ensuring timely delivery of episodes and accompanying elements including, but not limited to, episode titles, descriptions, and website blurbs
  • Point of contact for select podcasts on the network

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Proficient Audio Production experience;
  • Proficient Video Production experience;
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with Microsoft office;
  • Exceptional written communication and proof-reading skills;
  • Strong grasp of social media best practices

Part time contract position (20hrs per week). Approximately $20/hr. The actual hourly fee will be based on various factors including the candidate’s level of skills and experience, aligned with the needs of the role, budget, and market.
