Frances Whitney

Frances Whitney was raised in colorful San Francisco by two third-generation Californians and now lives in Los Angeles. Her West Coast roots, lifelong obsession with lyricists, and equally powerful and tender voice underpin Whitney’s intimate, at times confessional, alternative folk songs.

Whitney wrote her first song at six years old, sitting on her bed – still her favorite place to write. Her artistry is tenderly and inextricably linked to her mother, who bestowed upon her a playful, everyday, deep creativity — and lent her the “Whitney” in Frances Whitney.
