MADISYN GIFFORD – “HOPE YOU’RE WELL” LYRIC VIDEO

“I’ve said one too many stupid things, I can’t take back. Got so good at talking sh*t, I fell off my own track. Never thought I’d be back, how did I get here? Crying drunk on the floor to someone I’ve barely met. Keeping score of foolish things I’ve done, am I done? Placing the blame on you, I guess it’s easy to never have to look at myself two o’clock in the morning on the floor of an ATM b*tching at you over the phone.” – lyrics

‘Hope You’re Well’ tells an honest tale about a young woman who recently experienced a severe breakup with her significant other. Apparently, they were puzzle pieces that her ex-partner tried to shove together, but unfortunately, they didn’t fit. Later, she wishes her ex well and admits that she was also at fault for their breakup.

“STILL DON’T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE A CAR, YOU ALWAYS HATED THAT. COULDN’T UNDERSTAND THAT I WAS TOO SCARED TO GO FAST.”

“‘Hope You’re Well’ is a song that I wrote with Jared Manierka last year. At a time when I had finally come to a place of acceptance after a really hard breakup. It’s about the empowerment that comes from wishing someone well rather than painting them as the villain while also simultaneously accepting your own wrongdoings in the relationship. This is one of the most honest songs I have ever written in my life and I am so proud of it. It is filled with real snapshots of my life over a period of two years and more than anything, to me, it feels like an open letter or a diary entry. I hope more than anything people who listen to it will see themselves within my words and find the story just as cathartic as I do.” – Madisyn Gifford explained

‘Hope You’re Well’ contains a relatable narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and rich harmonies. The melancholic tune possesses moody instrumentation flavored with contemporary and emo-pop elements. Furthermore, “Hope You’re Well” serves as a therapeutic taste of what’s to come from Madisyn Gifford in the near future as she continues to release new music.
