The album’s momentum continued with “Since You’ve Been Gone” peaking at #9 at Hot AC, and standout single “No Surprise” making Canadian radio history as the first-ever #1 Canadian Rock song on Mediabase R&R charts.

Fast-forwarding 20 years to the present, Theory of a Deadman has cultivated a global footprint through major multi-platinum hits and countless sold-out shows worldwide. The band’s impressive catalogue has logged two Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200, amassed more than 4 billion streams worldwide and over 870 million views on their official YouTube channel – a momentum that will continue well into the new year with the release of new music.

604 President and Co-Founder Jonathan Simkin shares:

“Time flies. It’s hard to believe it’s been twenty years. The initial release feels like only yesterday. Listening all of these years later, it’s clear that Gasoline truly stands the test of time. This 2005 Theory of a Deadman album was a pivotal release in 604’s history. Theory was the first band that we signed. Gasoline far exceeded the industry’s and the public’s expectations. Stated simply, this record established Theory as a household name across Canada, and beyond. “No Surprise” was a great first single. An incredibly catchy song, with a chorus you just couldn’t help but repeat. However, “Santa Monica” is the single that really blew the house down. It shut up all the doubters, and the band really has not looked back ever since. Gasoline is a legacy that I, and 604 are very proud of. It’s also one of the first albums 604 really took the marketing reins on, and we’ve never looked back either.”

Formed in 1999 in North Delta, Canada, by Tyler Connolly, Dean Back, Dave Brenner, and Tim Hart, Theory of a Deadman cut their teeth playing shows around Vancouver. Upon signing to 604 Records in Canada, they released their debut self-titled album in 2002, which led to the band carving a niche in the US, soon after welcoming drummer Brent Fitz to set the stage for their heavy-hitter follow-up, Gasoline. Since the release of the record, the band’s current drummer, Joe Dandeneau, came into the fold to complete the quartet’s lineup as it’s known today.
