“Bare Minimum” – Madisyn Gifford | Review | Unheard Gems

Madisyn Gifford is a rising starlet out of Vancouver Canada. “Bare Minimum” is a catchy girl pop song that calls for self-worth!

Madisyn has a lovely smooth quality to her voice. She has a youthful style to her lyrics that are quite fun to listen to and paints a clear picture of the situation. I would describe this track as that perfect flirtatious pop sound. This chorus is perfectly catchy and really brings home a beautiful message of self-worth in a relationship. You can expect more!

On the new single, Madisyn shares, “Bare Minimum is a song all about coming into your own after a breakup and realizing that you deserved better throughout the relationship. It acknowledges the pain and bitterness that often comes along with moving on while also exploring themes of empowerment throughout the track. This was such a fun and important song for me to write and it meant so much to me in my own process of moving on. More than anything I hope that it can do the same thing for those who listen!”

“Bare Minimum” follows the release of Madisyn Gifford’s debut EP Learning To Exist – a seven song collection that encapsulates her experiences while transitioning out of adolescence and into adulthood, reflecting all facets of her own emotional spectrum. From the immense grief found in tracks such as her debut single “Without You” and grappling with her own mental health in “Ghost,” to flaunting her playful side in focus track “Black Coffee” and the empowering “Voulez-Vous,” the collection holds space for every type of listener.

Quickly joining the new generation of Canadian artists getting noticed in the rising pop scene, Madisyn has already accumulated over 167K Spotify streams and over 615K Youtube views since her debut release “Without You.” Her music has started appearing on some of Spotify’s top playlists such as It’s a Bop and Indie Pop & Chill, while receiving tastemaker praise from the likes of CLOUT, Exclaim, Indie88 and CelebMix. Madisyn’s sophomore single “Voulez Vous” proved to be a smash, accumulating nearly 200K views on the official video in its first two weeks alone.
