“Dirty Dancing” – Fionn | Review | Unheard Gems

Fionn is back with a lovely and fun electro pop track, “Dirty Dancing”.

This duo just makes me smile. I was listening to this song with my girlfriend in the living room and as soon as the chorus hit they pulled me up to dance. That is the kind of joy this track radiates. The beat is infectious and really takes you over.

On the track, the sisters note: “Dirty Dancing is a lighthearted and upbeat song about meeting someone new and fantasizing about the future you could have together. We both have met people on nights out that have ended up playing major roles in our lives, so this is a sugary account of that experience. We wanted the video to showcase the fun nature of the song and show off a bit of our personalities.”

There’s a delicate finesse that can be found in the songwriting of Vancouver sister duo Fionn. Combined with their lush vocals and euphoric melody, the pair’s latest offering “Modern Medication” is no exception. Accumulating over 700K streams since their 2017 debut with “Skeleton“, which peaked in the Top 5 on the CBC Music charts, Fionn have had their music featured among some of the most sought after playlists such as Indie All Stars, New Music Friday, Contemporary Blend, Folk and Friends, Ready to Rock, Rock Your Block, Fresh Finds, and Canada Viral 50. With their rich harmonies and smart songwriting, the duo have impressed industry and press alike, receiving praises from tastemakers such as Billboard, Condé Naste, Exclaim, Ladygunn, PopMatters, Guitar Girl Magazine and CBC Music.
