Suzie McNeil
BIOGRAPHY
Suzie McNeil is a seasoned performer who was first introduced to the world stage as the last woman standing in the 2005 CBS hit reality series Rockstar:INXS which topped TV ratings in US, Australia, Europe, the Philippines and Canada.
Proclaimed by INXS as the 'best vocalist in the competition' she went on to record with INXS as a featured vocalist on 'Switch', went on tour with P!NK and since has released 2 albums in Canada.
'Broken & Beautiful' was released in 2007 and the debut single 'Hung Up' became an instant Top 20 Hot AC hit. The video was in the Top 10 at Much More Music and helped drive the single to Top 40 CHR. The debut record aslo produced the top 10 single 'Believe' which she was used to promote the 2010 Olympics Own the Podium Program with her song and video with over half a million views on YouTube and Bell.ca. She performed Believe at the half time of CFL Grey Cup game as well as at the Closing Ceremonies for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, for which she also co-wrote the Athlete's Tribute Song. The solid debut effort garnered her the 2008 Canadian Indie Award for "Best New Pop Artist" in addition to her nominations for 2 Canadian Music Awards and JUNO for "Best New Artist".
Suzie's sophomore CD 'Rock-n-Roller' produced the 2 Top 20 hits 'Let's Go' and 'Help Me Out' and paved the way for the 2009 Gold selling single 'Supergirl' which topped the HOT AC charts at #3 and was Top 20 at CHR. Videos for both 'Let's Go' and 'Supergirl' also played extensively on Much More Music.
Suzie is currently in her 3rd season as a judge on YTV's The Next Star, an 'Idol-esque' show for teens in Canada where her song 'Let's Go' is also used as the theme song. She has just released her 3rd CD, 'Live Acoustic', an intimate collection of some of her hit songs including 'Supergirl' and 'Believe' and a rousing rendition of Dusty Springfield's 'Son of a Preacher Man' performed live on her 2010 Colin James tour PLUS some bonus studio tracks.
Today Suzie is writing and recording for her 4th record which will be her best yet with the first single due out in fall of 2010 and the full CD in early 2011.
